International Mission

It is a common assumption that the Church around the world is significantly increasing in number. The World Christian Encyclopedia, 2nd edition, claims that there are over 69,000 daily conversions to Christianity. Even without statistics, informed Christian leaders hear of the fruit in places such as India, Africa, and China and know that an amazing work of God is taking place in the non-Western world. This trend is not new. The last two centuries of Christian missionary efforts have been successful in disseminating the gospel around the world.

While these efforts have resulted in amazing and eternal fruit, national leaders are alarmed at the generational nominalism emerging in their churches. The crying need is for leadership that can strengthen the churches against nominalism and bring them to maturity in Christ. Unfortunately, the current model of leadership development, which is a Western institutional model, cannot meet the immediate global need.

Biblical missions, as patterned by Christ and His Apostles in the book of Acts, integrates evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, and mission together in a common process some have called "The Pauline Cycle." Paul's cycle of ministry demonstrates that once evangelism took place, churches were formed and strengthened in the teachings of Christ, mature leaders were appointed to shepherd the church from error and sin, and then the churches were commended to God. These elements of Paul's model must be incorporated into our missions efforts to ensure that current and subsequent generations of churches grow strong in fulfilling the calling of God upon them.

Partnering with International Denominations, Networks, and Associations of Churches

At the invitation of national church leaders, BILD International is currently working in fourteen countries to help them bring their churches to maturity—developing biblical processes of mission, discipleship, and leadership development to strengthen their existing generation of churches and to see the next generation emerge even stronger.

BILD provides a structured program, similar to the one used with North American churches, to help national leaders equip their churches for the work of the ministry. Seminars, workshops, translated resources, strategic short-term visits, and key church partnerships are components of our International projects.

We are currently working in the following countries:
